Viking Signs in the Arabian League with Tunisian Organization.
Jungler Anton "Viking" Andersson and Support Abdulkader "B Butcher" Halwani have signed with GnG Amazigh to participate in the Arabian League 2024 Summer Season, sources tell Sheep Esports on Monday. The team will be joined by top laner Barış "Juzu" Karatop, mid laner Jonas "Knighter" Bryder Jensen, bot laner Hasan "Neramin" Samarsın, and coach Harry "ATN" Sandford, who were all announced by the organization this week.
The Arabian League on the Rise
Despite a challenging first half of 2024, GnG Amazigh is now poised to seek redemption in the Arabian League's Summer Season. As the league's allure grows, particularly due to its outstanding performances at the EMEA Masters during the spring season, more organizations are stepping up to the challenge.
Among the many teams enhancing their operations this split, the Tunisian organization has finalized its full roster after conducting thorough trials with several high-profile players. According to sources, the team strongly considered junglers Valentin "Stormax" Garnier and Stéphane "Manaty" Dimier for its roster, both of whom, despite being first options, eventually joined other teams.
Additionally, the team expressed interest in several other players such as Mike "Furuy" Wils, William "Sn1lle" Andersson, Maged "Maged" Marawan Mohamed, Jakob "Bung" Gramm, and Alf-Kristian "Nash" Sund.
With each player having achieved success in their respective regions, the currently announced players of GnG are expected to form a solid core for the organization's new lineup. During the spring season, Juzu competed for Fox Gaming, a Moroccan organization that narrowly missed qualification for the EMEA Masters. Knighter, on the other hand, was part of the dominant KRC Genk Esports roster in the ESLOL, which won the league and participated in the EMEA Masters. Similarly, Neramin joins this new team as a pride of the Ultraliga, having been part of Poland's most successful team at the EMEA Masters, Orbit Anonymo.
Although the Swedish Jungler has not had the best recent results, Viking remains a strong addition to the roster. He was most recently associated with Akroma in the LFL Division 2 and previously with Geekay Esports, with whom he attended the EMEA Masters Main Event in the Spring of 2023.
Bloody Butcher, the team's new support, previously competed in the Elite Series, reaching the EMEA Masters with A One Man Army. Though he has not yet won a championship, the support player remains a strong addition, having been a finalist in the Arabian League with RA'AD back in early 2023.
