Trigger already played in the EMEA region with BKROG, in the 2023 LFL Season
Geekay Esports have been forced to adapt their plans. According to Sheep Esports sources, the reigning Arabian League champion initially reached a verbal agreement with AD Carry Song “Bull” Seon-gyu, including a clause allowing him to withdraw if an opportunity arose in the LCK. Just two weeks later, the South Korean joined OK BRION, as announced by the organization. As a result, Kim “Trigger” Eui-joo is expected to fill the ADC role for Geekay next season.
Trigger gained recognition in the EMEA region during his 2023 stint with BKROG in the LFL. Despite a rocky Spring Split (8th place), the team unlocked its potential in the Summer Split, reaching the final before losing to Karmine Corp. Kai'Sa and Aphelios' specialist, Trigger left the country after BKROG’s elimination in the semifinals of the Coupe de France 2023. He did not compete at the start of the 2024 season but later joined a new project across the Atlantic with Infinity in the LLA.
Looking for his first title
As in the previous summer in the LFL, Trigger reached the LLA final but once again fell short, this time losing to Rainbow 7. The AD Carry is still chasing his first career title, and Geekay Esports looks like a promising bet in that regard. Alongside winning the Arabian League last summer, the club has consistently been a dominant force in its local competition. GK claimed the AL title in Spring 2023 and returned to the finals in Spring 2024.
For the 2025 season, Geekay have assembled an impressive roster poised to defend its crown barring any major setbacks. The team has retained three key players: jungler Taha “Elramir” Yurdagüven, midlaner Ahmad “Giyuu” Charif, and support Waleed “DeKap” Mohammed Ismail. In the toplane, Geekay secured Mohamed Yehia “Boda” El Sayed, another rising talent on the EMEA scene. Trigger rounds out the lineup, forming a squad with the potential to challenge even the strongest ERL teams at the EMEA Masters.
Geekay already demonstrated their strength last year, reaching the semifinals of the Spring EMEA Masters before dominating the Swiss Stage in the summer. Their performances earned them the top spot in our EMEA Masters playoff Power Rankings. However, in the Round of 16, the Saudi team faced Papara SuperMassive, a powerhouse that had narrowly missed advancing through the Swiss Stage. The Turkish team ultimately prevailed, ending Geekay’s season on a bittersweet note.
