Armao joins Mask on a brand new Immortals roster in the LCS
ARMAO REACHES VERBAL AGREEMENT WITH IMMORTALS
Jonathan “Armao” Armao has reached a verbal agreement with Immortals and will be the LCS Organization’s Jungler for the 2024 LCS Season, according to Sheep Esports sources.
Armao will be joining Mid Laner Lee "Mask" Sang-hun on the roster, as reported by Sheep Esports previously. They'll both play for an Immortals team that has struggled since their return to the LCS in the summer of 2020.
AN IMMORTAL JOURNEY
Armao spent 2022 away from the scene altogether but joined Cloud9 as a positional coach for the 2023 LCS Spring Split, helping them secure the title and qualify for MSI.
Armao returned to competing in the summer of 2023 with Evil Geniuses in the LCS, one of four roster changes made around star mid laner Joseph "Jojopyun" Joon Pyun on a roster with little expectations from onlookers.
In the end, the team defied expectations, finishing 3rd in the regular season. Although Armao was substituted for the last three games of the split after a four-loss streak for Jade "Sheiden" Libut, this didn't do much for EG. They qualified for the end-of-season LCS Championship. After beating TSM in their first series, they were defeated by Cloud9 and Team Liquid, eliminating them from World Championship contention.
