There are no longer any winless teams in the LEC
The second week of the LEC has come to an end, with every team in the league now guaranteed at least one win in the Spring Split. GIANTX managed a 2-0 victory over Rogue, though the series was far from clean and filled with shaky moments. Meanwhile, Movistar KOI controlled their series against Team Heretics from start to finish, taking a convincing 2-0 win to bounce back after a rough first week that saw them go 0-2. The standings are starting to take shape, and the true level of each team is becoming clearer.
"Dos a cero"
GIANTX secured their first win of the LEC split with a 2-0 over Rogue, though the series was anything but dominant. Both teams showed signs of struggle, with extended fights, scattered decision-making, and moments of uncertainty throughout. Despite the shaky execution, GIANTX managed to maintain small leads and convert them into game-winning advantages when it mattered most. Rogue, on the other hand, failed to fully punish GIANTX's mistakes and couldn't turn their own brief advantages into lasting control. The series felt scrappy rather than decisive, but it was enough for GIANTX to finally get on the board. While the win offers a step in the right direction, both squads still have plenty to refine as the split continues.
MKOI finally finds some relief with their first win of the split. After suffering two defeats during a tough opening week against G2 Esports and Karmine Corp, Ibai "Ibai" Llanos's team takes the derby and kickstarts their Spring Split. Stronger in the draft and perhaps still among the best in Europe since the start of the year, they took early leads in the laning phase and converted them smoothly in mid-game skirmishes. Team Heretics, on the other hand, made a string of poor decisions, gradually giving away both games with over-aggressive plays that ended in costly deaths. It's worth noting that Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun delivered a solid series overall, well-supported by a composed and effective Javier "Elyoya" Prades. Seeing him scale throughout the split could be great news for a team aiming to compete with the best in the league.
After a day where two Spanish teams claimed victories, the LEC will return next weekend for the third wave of matches in the seven-week regular season of Spring. All eyes will be on the upcoming games, especially the clash between Fnatic and Vitality, to see if the Bees can bounce back against a strong opponent. Additionally, the match between Movistar KOI and Team BDS will be crucial to determine which of these two teams is in better form and will gain confidence in the race for the playoffs. The weekend will kick off on Saturday at 2 PM CET, with BDS facing Team Heretics.
