Zicssi makes his first entry into the LFL!
Jungler Lanzo "Zicssi" Ciajolo has reached a verbal agreement with GameWard in the LFL, according to Sheep Esports sources. Back to back champion of the Hitpoint Masters, the French jungler makes his entry into the LFL.
New Blood in the LFL
This move marks Zicssi's first shot at competing in the LFL 1st Division. Previously, the French jungler had been a part of Team MCES in the ERL's secondary division. In 2022, Zicssiflay won the LFL Division 2 in spring and finished in 3rd place in summer, eventually falling short in the up & down tournament, where MCES lost to Team Oplon and later disbanded.
In 2023, the French jungler took on new challenges by joining EIQ in the Hitpoint Masters. During his time in the Czechoslovak ERL, Zicssi achieved a remarkable feat by winning both its splits and its off-season winter tournament. While competing with Entropiq, Zicssi played with mid laner Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek, who was reported by Sheep Esports to be joining Excel Esports in the LEC next year.
Earlier this month, GameWard were reported to have made several acquisitions to fill in their LFL roster and with Zicssi's deal, the team will now only be missing a mid laner to complete its 2024 line-up. The jungler will be joined by former EMEA Masters finalist Mahdi "Pride" Nasserzadeh in the top lane, young rookie AD Carry Matias "Matiaslaclasse" Manchin-Opheltes, and veteran support Pierre "Steeelback" Medjaldi.
In September, GameWard openly communicated their failure to meet expectations during the 2023 season, as they finished the year with 6th and 10th place results in LFL regular splits. After successfully re-qualifying through the LFL's promotion tournament, the team is now determined to set new standards for both themselves and their fans in 2024.
