SK gaming decided to acquire a new botlane from LCK Challengers League
DK Challengers AD Carry Cho "Rahel" Min-seong and NS Esports Academy Support Lee "HH" Hyun-ho are set to join SK gaming in the LEC. They will take over the spots left by AD Carry Thomas "Exakick" Foucou and Mads "Doss" Schwartz this Summer Split. Sources told Sheep Esports this information on Thursday.
A late departure
With this change, Exakick and Doss are currently exploring options in Europe. However, both have only learned about their definitive benching from the LEC team on Wednesday. This means that it much harder for them to find a new team next split. Indeed, most of the rosters in the LEC have been decided for summer already. One exception remains thanks to SK gaming, though, as the team gives them the possibility to play in their academy team. While this is as of now undecided, one botlane of both SK Gaming rosters will most likely end up on the bench.
Exakick and Doss united for the first time as a bot lane during the Summer of 2021 in LDLC OL in the LFL. After winning two LFL trophies together, both players joined SK Gaming in 2023. During this year and a half with the German organization, Exakick and Doss achieved results around the sixth position, never managing to make it past the top teams in the league.
Rahel & HH join the LEC
Rahel will be joining SK Gaming after a strong split in the LCK Challengers League. Indeed, with his team, DK Challengers, Rahel finished in second place. HH (from his real name, Hyeon-ho) didn't finish too far off either, as NS Esports Academy finished in third position.
This isn't the first time that SK Gaming are importing players from South Korea. Toplaner Kim "Ruin" Hyeong-min (2016), Midlaner Choi "Pirean" Jun-sik (2019), Support Han "Dreams" Min-kook, and Jungler Kim "Trick" Gang-yun (2020) also played for the German team in their respective careers.
SK Gaming have considered various other options during the offseason, mostly from South Korea, but have decided on Rahel & HH in the end.
