SK tried out Keduii
Cho "Rahel" Min-seong, who played a pivotal role in revitalizing SK Gaming last summer, will retain his position with the German team for the upcoming LEC season, according to Sheep Esports sources. The South Korean AD Carry was still under contract, but his spot was uncertain as SK Gaming had tried out Tim “Keduii” Willers, who had just finished an impressive year in the LFL with BDS Academy. Keduii will now move on to join BK ROG, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.
From his LEC debut, the two-time LCK CL champion with DAMWON Academy has been impressive. In the first week of the Summer Split, he stepped up against G2 Esports with Kalista, dismantled GIANTX on Lucian, and shone against Team BDS on Kai'Sa. Thanks to Rahel and his support Lee "Luon" Hyun-ho, SK opened the Summer Split with four straight wins, including two over top contenders. In week 3, Rahel delivered two other standout performances, even humiliating David “Supa” Garcia in a 1v1, earning him the title of MVP of the week from the Sheep Esports team.
Unhappy end
In short, SK’s botlane quickly became one of the best in the league, leading SK Gaming to the top of the regular season standings. Just when the German team looked set for a podium finish, however, the playoffs proved challenging. After a promising start against Team Heretics, Rahel struggled against Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek in the upper bracket match against Fnatic. While the AD Carry held his ground against Karmine Corp in the lower bracket, his performance wasn’t enough to prevent SK Gaming's defeat and therefore elimination from the Summer Split.
SK and Rahel's run at the Season Finals was brief, with BDS sweeping them 3-0 in the first round, marking a disappointing end to the season that could have been brilliant. Nonetheless, Rahel has proven himself in the LEC, and his retention on the SK roster is good news for both the organization and the league’s competitive level. Next season, Rahel will see some new teammates: while Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem will continue in the jungle, SK will welcome two new players to the solo lanes. Janik “JNX” Bartels returns to SK Gaming’s toplane, and Steven “Reeker” Chen gets another shot in the LEC, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.
SK Gaming's reported 2025 roster:
