GiantX have already started extensive tryouts
Support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun and Head Coach Christophe "Kaas" van Oudheusden are set to part ways with GiantX in the LEC, sources told Sheep Esports on Friday. After a challenging year for the LEC organization, which saw them undergo several changes, GX is currently very active in the team's construction phase, with tryouts already underway. Although it is a rare occurrence for teams to hold tryouts, it is common practice for GX to start them early in the offseason.
New Blood in the Coaching Staff
Kaas has been a part of GiantX since the merger last year and, before that, spent most of the 2023 Season at Excel Esports. While his exit is now certain, his assistant coach, Nicolas "Nico" Perez, who was promoted from the academy after the spring split, will likely stay with the team, retaining his Assistant Coach position. This means that GX is currently looking for a new Head Coach for the 2025 Season, while player tryouts are ongoing.
More Roster Changes?
While IgNar is the only player confirmed to leave the roster for next year, it is not impossible for GiantX to make further changes during the offseason. Indeed, the British team is currently holding tryouts for other positions and could make changes accordingly. However, the key players who contributed to last season's roster will remain with the team next year.
