Former BDS Head Coach in the LEC in 2023, GotoOne is set to join Gentle Mates in the LFL
Head Coach Adrien "GotoOne" Picard has reached a verbal agreement to join Gentle Mates in the LFL, sources tell Sheep Esports on Sunday. If Max "Raqo" Temminck has also been considered, GotoOne was the organization's first choice to take on the position and build a new roster for next year, as it is already clear that there will be several changes across most roles.
GotoOne began his coaching career in the LCS in 2020 as an assistant coach with Immortals. Following a challenging year in North America, he transitioned to the LFL in 2021 as a head coach for the first time, where he spent two years leading Gameward and BDS Academy. During his tenure, he guided BDS Academy to the finals of the EUM Summer 2022, narrowly losing to Team Heretics with a score of 3-2. After an impressive split, he was promoted to the main roster of BDS in the LEC as head coach in 2023. Under his leadership, Team BDS achieved significant milestones, including being the runner-up in LEC's spring split that year and their inaugural appearance at the World Championship. However, after his stint with the Swiss organization, GotoOne parted ways with the team and has been without a team for the past year.
GentleMates seized the opportunity to bring on an experienced head coach after a tumultuous year. Despite assembling a roster that could win it all on paper, M8 struggled consistently throughout the regular season, often falling short of expectations. They needed to execute remarkable runs to qualify for the playoffs in the spring, and their summer split concluded with a disappointing 8th-place finish.
