Dutch Organization Seeks Redemption with All-New Roster.
A former colossus of the Benelux scene, the storied Dutch organization is now attempting to live up to its name and reclaim its Dynasty. Per sources, the team has now finalized a brand new roster ahead of the ESLOL 2024 Summer Split — Elite Series: League of Legends. Revitalized, Dynasty is now set to field top laner "MaiYuk", jungler "Fluffy", mid laner "Marty", ad carry "Slyv3r", support "Stookbeer", and substitute support "Rexat". In addition to its five new starting members, the team will also welcome coach Huy "Rice" Nguyen, who will share responsibilities with Jai "Beowulf" Hill.
A Ray of Light in the Dark
Beginning the year with high expectations after earning promotion to the Elite Series, Dynasty unfortunately struggled in the first half of 2024. Ending the Spring Season in last place with only one victory, the team returned to the drawing board. Parting ways with all its previous starting players, Dynasty now looks towards the horizon in hopes of finding redemption in the summer season.
By acquiring three members of mCon esports' former playoffs roster, the Dutch organization seems poised to improve on its past failures and show renewed fervor in the Elite Series. When questioned about the failures of the spring season, individuals close to the organization responded that while the previous players of Dynasty showed strong individual talents, the team was unable to gel together and function as a group properly. Sources also indicate that some players were given the chance to trial despite not eventually making the final cut.
Although the threat of falling to the relegation tournament at the end of the year subsides, discussions with the team indicate that such a potential scenario did not dictate Dynasty's off-season moves. The organization primarily focuses on re-establishing itself as a regional contender and aims, at minimum, to participate in the playoffs.
Meet Your New Kings
A powerful trio, consisting of mid laner Martin "Marty" Dimitrov, ad carry Job "Slyv3r" Goossens, and support Mick "Stookbeer" op den Akker, should prove to be well-known names to any Benelux readers. While the bot laners are expected to bring a strong veteran core and leadership to the team, eyes will be turned towards Marty, as the 17-year-old Bulgarian mid laner now hopes to finally reach a true breakout split.
Previously competing for AOMA and mCon, the player has remained a topic for debate due to strong individual showings despite middling results. With a strong lineup surrounding him and the comfort of continuing his adventure with two of his former teammates, Marty will now hope to break past his fourth-place curse and prove that he has what it takes to compete at the top.
An exciting yet unknown factor, challenger jungler Kadir "Fluffy" Adımutlu, will also be another member to keep an eye on in the summer season. Having personally received commendations from former mCon star rookie Bulut "Gakgos" Ibrahim Samet, Fluffy should prove an interesting addition to Dynasty, notably due to his aggressive and carry-oriented playstyle. As of yet, Fluffy has not had the chance to truly debut in the ERLs, as he only competed in parts of the TCL Division 2 and NLC Division 2 splits with various teams in 2024.
Finalizing the team's starting roster, fan favorite top laner Constantine "MaiYuk" de Jong will be making a return to ESLOL after competing with Pertinax Esports in the 2nd division for a split. Though MaiYuk has not yet achieved stellar results in the league, the rather young talent has shown strong individual capabilities during his time with mCon esports last year. Despite being part of a dysfunctional roster, the top laner historically stood out as a talented rookie in the rough. With a new adventure under Dynasty, only the future will tell if he will succeed in reaching the league's playoffs and finally taste success.
It is important to note that, despite having locked its five starting players, Dynasty will not be able to field its full lineup in the first two matches of the summer season due to an ongoing suspension plaguing its support, Stookbeer. Consequently, the team has decided to sign former 42 Gaming support Levin "Rexat" Kaminski, who was previously coached by Dynasty's new staff member, Rice. Coming in as a temporary substitute, the player is currently expected to be released after his first two matches as he will then return to the NLC 2nd Division.
To fully enable its lineup, the team will also adopt a dual coaching structure in which the aforementioned coach Rice will focus on strategic aspects of the game such as macro and game knowledge, while Beowulf will focus on providing proper team-building structure and enabling the players to work with one another.
According to sources, the team also considered several other players during its trials, with the most noteworthy names being Dutch bot laners Aliplane and xDrop, Turkish jungler Ilgar (formerly known as Shredded under Rift Sloths), and many more.
