Team Heretics are preparing to turn the page. According to Sheep Esports sources, toplaner Martin “Wunder” Hansen, jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, midlaner Artur “Zwyroo” Trojan, and support Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus have been allowed to explore their options for the next season of the LEC, the League of Legends EMEA Championship. As a result, the quartet will most likely not be part of the Spanish team's roster next season.

Team Heretics may retain one of the four players if the offseason does not go according to plan, but the priority is to rebuild their project around AD Carry Victor “Flakked” Lirola. Víctor “Machuki” Segura, who was promoted to head coach of the LEC team in late May, will also retain his position for 2025. The coaching staff was behind this decision and will be responsible for building the team's future roster.

A Lackluster Year

Heretics are coming off a generally unsuccessful season in the LEC. The reunion of G2 Esports' former players in Winter 2024 was not exactly a success, and after a very mediocre regular season, Heretics exited in the first round of the playoffs. Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser was replaced by Trymbi to bring some "leadership" to the team, and Luka “Perkz” Perkovic was removed at the last minute, just before the start of the Spring Split. Zwyroo, who had been playing for the academy in the Superliga, was promoted and given the opportunity to compete in the LEC.

Despite a stronger performance during the Spring Split regular season, including some promising initial steps from Zwyroo, this version of the roster was not significantly more successful. After the BO1 phase and victories over Fnatic and BDS, Heretics made it through only one more round of the playoffs, finishing no higher than fifth place. Following that, the Summer Split was a major disappointment. Having barely qualified for the playoffs, the team once again failed to win a single match. With two seventh-place finishes and one fifth-place finish in three splits, the Spanish club did not qualify for the Season Finals.
