Gaax has re-signed with Fnatic for another year
Pablo "Gaax" Vegas Pérez has re-signed to Fnatic as Assistant Coach, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. Promoted to the LEC team's coaching staff a year ago, Gaax extends his journey with the Black and Orange for another year. Following the recent departure of head coach Tomáš "Nightshare" Kněžínek, announced by the coach himself a few weeks ago, Gaax will continue to work alongside Fabian "GrabbZ" Lohmann in the coaching staff.
Fnatic is accumulating more XP
Now that GrabbZ has been confirmed as the new Head Coach, it was only a matter of days before the decision was made regarding who will join his coaching staff. Keeping Gaax seems like a logical choice, given that he has already served as the Assistant Coach throughout this season. His deep knowledge of the roster and the habits of each player will be valuable in supporting GrabbZ.
Beyond his understanding of the team's culture, Gaax brings an interesting perspective. Before stepping into coaching, the 23-year-old spent a few years as a professional player in the support role at a modest level. He started competing in notable tournaments in Spain in 2018, then in the Czech Republic and Italy in 2019, before moving on to the Belgian League in early 2020. He later played in the Spanish Div2, Liga Nexo, in early 2021, and wouldn’t return to the competitive scene until the LVP Summer 2023, where he took on the role of coach for Fnatic TQ, Fnatic's academy team. This would also be the team's final split in the region before disbanding.
With this addition, Fnatic further strengthens their coaching staff, while their roster is already complete with Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz, Iván "Razork" Martín, Marek "Humanoid" Brázda, Elias "Upset" Lipp, and Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle.
