Fnatic change their botlane, with the return of Upset and the arrival of a former rival, Mikyx
Despite spending another season overshadowed by their rival, G2 Esports, Fnatic have decided to keep three players for the upcoming season. First is Ivan “Razork” Martin, arguably the best jungler in the LEC in 2024 and the cornerstone of Fnatic’s Black and Orange project. Alongside Razork remain the two solo laners: Oscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz in the toplane and Marek “Humanoid” Brázda in the midlane. However, Fnatic have parted ways with their South Korean botlane, Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek and Yoon “Jun” Se-jun, who will now compete in GIANTX colors next season.
To fill the gap, Fnatic has brought back a familiar face: Elias “Upset” Lipp. Sidelined when his predecessor, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, returned in 2023, Upset had a successful first stint with the British organization. While he couldn’t break Fnatic’s title drought dating back to 2018, the German AD Carry proved himself as one of the league’s finest. Since his departure, Upset has faced challenges—first with Vitality in 2023 and then with Karmine Corp, where he knew his place would be filled by Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert in 2025.
A new coaching staff
In the support role, Fnatic have enlisted one of their tormentors of recent years: Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle. The Slovenian veteran was one of the casualties of G2 Esports’ roster overhaul. Despite G2’s dominance in Europe, their lack of international success over the past two years prompted a restructuring. Sidelined from G2, Mikyx’s arrival is a significant boost for Fnatic’s roster.
Fnatic have also revamped their coaching staff. Fabian “GrabbZ” Lohmann, another former G2 member, takes over as Head Coach, replacing Tomáš “Nightshare” Kněžínek. He will work alongside Pablo “Gaax” Vegas Pérez, who joins as Assistant Coach.
