He will join forces with the international side ahead of the Second Split of Challengers Spain: Rising
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Luca “azury” Sammer has reached an agreement with UCAM Esports. He will join forces with the international side ahead of the Second Split of Challengers Spain: Rising.
The 19-year-old German was last employed by German organisation FOKUS, who finished third in the regular season of the Challenger League DACH Evolution but he was moved to the bench in January this year. Before that, he played for CGN Esports for around a year and a half, playing multiple B-tier tournaments with a couple of 1st place finishes.
UCAM Esports, who recently reached a partnership agreement with Giantx as reported on Sheep Esports, finished fourth in the first split of the league in Spain and have decided to strengthen their team in order to compete in the Ascension tournament at the end of the year. They believe that their first step in achieving that goal is to replace Travis “L1NK" Mendoza, who has been with the team since December. The young German was the chosen candidate to replace the Brit, and this may be due to his experience, having already competed in Ascension last year with CGN after dominating the two splits of the German league.
Whether this turns out to be a successful move or not, this is a sign of ambition from the Spanish organisation who look to fight for bigger and better titles in the Valorant space.
