Altekz reaches verbal agreement with Apeks & STYKO likely not to continue
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Alexander "Altekz" Givskov has reached a verbal agreement with Apeks after nearly a year-long stint with Preasy and ex-Preasy. The Danish rifler has put up a 1.05 HLTV rating over the last three months, which is not all that impressive but might be the critical component to Apeks' bounce-back from recent lackluster showings.
It's also worth noting Altekz's versatility, as Givskov has been delivering decent ratings in a range of events. From CCT to A1 Gaming League, and even the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR Decider Qualifier, Givskov has consistently shown his skills.
Also, according to our sources, Martin "STYKO" Styk is likely not to renew his contract and, therefore, wouldn't be continuing with the Norwegian organization. This move isn't shocking, as Apeks benched STYKO in October last year. He was notified after returning from the ESL Pro League, where they finished in a poor 21st-28th place; after that, they started trialing Ådne "sense" Fredriksen. However, Two months after being benched, in late December 2023, STYKO was added back to Apeks' active roster.
The return of STYKO to the roster was prompted by the departure of Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, the in-game leader, to HEROIC. Apeks had to use STYKO's services to stay in the Europe RMR B.
After signing a short-term contract that would expire at the end of the Major, STYKO returned to Apeks and helped his team secure a trip to Copenhagen by leading them through the RMR with a 3-1 record. Their only loss came against eventual quarterfinalists Cloud9.
The international side's campaign through the Opening Stage of PGL Major Copenhagen proved to be far more dismal. They managed only one victory—a valiant BO1 over AMKAL—before finishing with an unimpressive 1-3 record.
