Zeus joins HLE in the LCK
Hanwha Life Esports have their full roster for the 2025 LCK season. After a season of ups and downs, HLE logically retain most of their roster. Indeed, the Oranges first finished 3rd in the LCK Spring Split, missing out on the MSI, before winning the Summer Split by beating both T1 and GenG. The Worlds were a little disappointing for HLE, who finished 5-8, eliminated by Bilibili Gaming. Despite more complicated international performances, the good form of HLE players played a big part in their LCK performances, particularly during the Summer Split.
First of all, Han "Peanut" Wang-ho: he was one of the benchmark players for the Korean organization this year, regaining his superb form and a very high level. The same goes for Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo who, since his World Champion title in 2022, has been rather quiet. However, his Summer Split saw the midlaner at the top of his game, with some excellent performances, notably on Yone.
Unsurprisingly, the HLE botlane was also very solid throughout the season, with Park "Viper" Do-hyeon among the best in his position, while Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong was the only one to rival Son "Lehends" Si-woo in this LCK year.
On the toplane, Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon confirmed his status as the 3rd best toplaner in the league behind Choi "Zeus" Woo-je and Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, but he won't be part of the HLE in 2025. Indeed, the biggest move of the offseason is here: Zeus leaves T1 and joins Hanwha Life Esports, while Doran goes the other way to join the reigning world champions.
God of Thunder
The news has created a real storm in the League of Legends community, as Zeus is the only ZOFGK player not to have re-signed with T1 and has joined the reigning LCK champion HLE. The two-time world champion looks (on paper at least) like an excellent upgrade for the Oranges, but it remains to be seen how well he'll settle in with his new teammates. In any case, this will enable HLE to play a little more around the topside, when we know Zeus' ability to be a clutch and carry player.
Doran, for his part, has tended to be a good weakside player, but with this new arrival, HLE could try to reverse the trend on some games, although until now, giving their botlane the resources has been fairly profitable. Hanwha Life Esports will therefore be hoping to secure another title and perform better internationally with their new toplaner.
